(IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SOFTWARE, YOU MAY TRANSMIT FILES USING THE SECURE WEBSITE AT HTTPS://SCAC.SETOFF.ORG.)
The Transmit menu allows for the integration of data with other computers and/or computer applications.
The Transmit menu:
There are three options within Transmit:
1. The Export to SCAC function has three options:
- ADJUSTMENT (maximum one per day) - sends the entire database so any payments and/or deletions are applied and forwarded to the Department of Revenue. Note: new debtors and/or new debts can be sent in an adjustment file. Only existing debts with the same debt amount or a reduction are allowed
- INITIAL LOAD (once per year) - sends the upcoming tax year submission. The S. C. Association of Counties is allowed to send a complete new database of debtors and debts for the tax year
- DATABASES (as requested by Five Star Computing, Inc. for technical support issues) - this file sends your DebtSetoff.mdb (Microsoft Access database) which can be used to diagnose and troubleshoot problems. Only do this function if specifically requested by Five Star Computing, Inc. via email or telephone request. Note: once this process has been initiated, refrain from any updates in the software due to the possibility that a database change may be performed by Five Star Computing and will overwrite any changes made locally by the entity
2. The Import from SCAC function has three options:
- Setoff - imports a selected file of debtors setoff by the Department of Revenue on a particular day
- GEAR - imports a selected file of debtors setoff by the Department of Revenue on a particular day
- Master File - imports the master database (DebtSetoff.mdb) which was modified or corrected by FIve Star Computing, Inc. due to a technical support issue, prompted by either the entity or Five Star Computing
3. The Custom Export function:
- creates a file from either ALL debtors OR
- just those that have been setoff, even for a particular date range
- choose any or all of the associated data items for debtors and debts
- create files that can be imported into various applications: word processing, spreadsheets or databases
